I wanted to send you a personal note of apology for what is happening with the Trump administration’s ban on immigration. I’m very sorry this is happening, and how it likely makes you feel. It makes me furious.

Please know that many at …., myself included, disagree strongly with it and are working to get this overturned. This administration’s attitude toward immigration is archaic, xenophobic, and likely illegal under federal law, but it will take time to sort out. In the meantime, I’m very sorry for any negative effect this has on you. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Hi …

I really appreciate your sympathy. This is a lesson for me to sympathize with people when I have not been affected. I am sure there is a big difference between the government of a country and individual citizens of that country and hence there is no need for an apology.

I have been affected but I feel I am so lucky compared to many others, e.g. Syrian war refugees who have been waiting maybe more than a year to be admitted to US but now they have a dark and an unknown future. I hope people do not lose hope and know future always can be bright.
